DIY Wickelunterlage / DIY Change Mat

Ich habe schon seit längerem nach einer Wickelmatte gesucht, die ich unterwegs für Miss M. benutzen könnte. Aber mal ehrlich, entweder die Teile sind völlig überteuert oder potthässlich!!! Also habe ich nach einem passenden DIY Projekt gesucht und eines gefunden. Es gab sogar gleich mehrere. Ich konnte mich nicht entscheiden, daher habe ich die Wickelmatte von "Smashed peas and carrots" und die von "Small Fry & Co" kombiniert.

Ich habe folgendes Material benutzt:
abwaschbare Tischdecke
Quilt-Füllung
Schrägband
und ein Bisschen Klettverschluss

I was looking for a change mat to carry around when I'm out and about with Miss M. But goodness-me they are bloody expensive or dead ugly!!! So I searched for a DIY Change Mat tutorial and guess what: I've found one ;-) Well actually I've found quite a few. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. So I've combined the change mat from "Smashed peas and carrots" with the one from "Small Fry & Co".

Here is the material i used:

tablecloth

batting

binding

and a little bit of velcro

Schneidet zwei Rechtecke mit abgerundeten Ecken aus der Tischdecke aus und ein gleiches Stück aus der Quillt-Füllung. Meine Maße betrugen ca. 47cm x 29cm, aber es bleibt euch überlassen, ob ihr sie größer oder kleiner macht.
Legt die Quilt-Füllung zwischen die beiden Tischdecken-Stücke.

Cut out two rectangular pieces with rounded corners of the tablecloth and one same size piece of the batting. My measurements are approximately 47cm x 29cm, but you can make your change mat bigger or smaller depending on how long you intend to use it.

Place the batting in the middle of the two tablecloths.

Feststecken und alles zusammen nähen.

Pin it and sew everything together.

Ich habe grünes, gekauftes Schrägband benutzt, aber ihr könnt eures natürlich auch selber machen. Falls ihr nicht wisst, wie ihr ein Schrägband einnäht, hier ist ein kleines, sehr nützliches Tutorial.

I used green binding that I've bought ready made but you can also make your own binding if you like. In case you are not sure how to sew a binding here is a great little tutorial.

Mit etwas Klettverschluss lässt sich die Matte schnell und einfach öffnen.

I've finished my change mat with a little bit of velcro to easily open and close it.

Ich nutze die Matte gleichzeitig als Tasche für Windeln und Wundschutzcreme, so dass ich alles gleich griffbereit habe.

I use the change mat also to hold a couple of nappies and some nappy rash cream in it, so everything is handy when I need it.

Die Wickeldecke faltet sich ganz praktisch zu einer kleinen Tasche zusammen. Ich glaube nicht, dass man so was in irgendeinem Laden kaufen kann ;-)

The change mat folds up to a little bag in which everything is safely stored. I don't think you can buy this one in the shops ;-)
