Ordnung im Nähzimmer / Organizing your sewing room!

Jetzt habe ich endlich etwas gemacht, was mir schon lange im Kopf rumschwebte, es mir aber immer an Umsetzung und Ideenreichtum gefehlt hat...eine Nähstation in meiner kleinen kreativen Kammer!

Jetzt ist es endlich umgesetzt worden!!! Und zwar für knapp 15 Euro!!! Jetzt herrscht Ordnung im Nähzimmer.

Was ihr braucht:
Eine Lochwand (dank lieber Nachbarn für mich umsonst!)
2 Pakete Haken (ca. 4 Euro pro Stück im Baumarkt)
Holzleiste & Schrauben (Leiste ca. 3 Euro im Baumarkt, Schrauben hatte ich noch zuhause)
Dünne Holzleiste (ca. 1 Euro im Baumarkt)
7 Hängekörbe (49 Cent pro Stück bei IKEA)
Klemmen (hatte ich noch zuhause)

Macht rund 15,50 Euro insgesamt. Ein Preis nach meinem Herzen!

I finally managed to do something that was on my mind for quite a while but I was always lacking the motivation and creativity...a sewing station for my little corner of creativity!

Now it finally happened!!! And for only around 15 Euros!!! Now my sewing room is well organized.

What you need:
A peg board (thanks to my lovely neighbors that was for free!)
2 packages of hooks (about 4 Euros each at the hardware store)
Wooden Plank & screws (plank about 3 Euros at the hardware store, I still had the screws at home)
Thin wooden stick (about 1 Euro at the hardware store)
7 little baskets (49 Cents each at IKEA)
Clips

That's about 15,50 Euros in total. Now that is a price I like!

Ich bin begeistert...ich muss immer wieder hingehen und mich an dem Anblick erfreuen!

I am so thrilled about it, I have to go back into the room and just look at it!

Die Hängekörbe gibt es bei IKEA für 49 Cent pro Stück...und das in vielen verschiedenen Farben!

The little baskets were only 49 Cents each at IKEA...now that's a bargain...and they come in different colors!

Jetzt hat alles seinen Platz: Scheren, Nadeln, Washitape, Nähzubehör...und es sieht auch noch alles stylisch und ordentlich aus!

Now everything has its place: scissors, needles, washitape, sewing accessories...and it looks stylish and organized!

Und die Ecke zwischen Durchgang und Schrank ist nun perfekt genutzt!

Now, the little nook between door and shelf is perfectly used!

Alle Scheren sind nun griffbereit und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Miss M.!

All scissors are handy and out of Miss M.'s reach at the same time!

Auch mein Washitape hat nun einen angemessenen Platz!

Even my washitape has found its perfect place now!

Etwas Inspiration darf nicht fehlen ;-)

And a little inspiration is needed as well ;-)

Angebracht wird das Lochbrett mir einer Holzleiste, sodass es genügend Abstand zur Wand gibt, um die Haken anzubringen.

The peg board is attached with a wooden plank to make sure there is enough room between wall and board for the hooks.

Am stolzesten bin ich für meinen Geistesblitz zur Geschenkpapieraufhängung...

I am very proud of my flash of genius for the gift wrapping storage...

...einfach eine Klemme anbringen und ab damit an den Haken!

...just put a little clip on it and hang it on a hook!

Wie gesagt ich kann mich gar nicht satt sehen ;-) Jetzt macht das Nähen doppelt Spaß!

As I said I can't get enough of it ;-) Now sewing is double the fun!

Sommer-Outfit's für Miss. M. / Summer Outfits for Miss M.

Miss M. ist ein richtiges Mädchen, wenn es um Röcke und Kleider geht...sie kann davon einfach nicht genug bekommen...klar, dass Mama regelmäßig für Nachschub sorgen muss ;-)

Miss M. is a real girly girl when it comes to skirts and dresses...she can't get enough of them...of course mummy needs to make sure there are new ones on a regular basis ;-)

Ein doppellagiger Rock...meine eigene Idee ;-) Hat wer Lust an nem Tutorial?

Und dann habe ich mich doch tatsächlich endlich an den Gnomeville-Stoff gewagt!!! Über ein Jahr lang, lag er unter der Kategorie "Streichelstoff" in meinem Schrank...jetzt hat Miss M. ein neues Sommerkleid ;-)

And I finally was brave enough to use the Gnomeville fabric!!! Over a year it was lying in my closet under the category "Stroke fabric"...now Miss M. has a new summer dress ;-)

Mal-Matsch-Kleidungsschonungs-Umhänge / Mud-and-Paint-Coats

Ich war mal wieder fleißig und habe einen Kundenauftrag umgesetzt...Gewünscht waren drei Mal-Matsch-Kleidungs-Schonungs-Umhänge...und voilà!!!

I've been busy and worked on a customer order...three mud-and-paint-covers were called for...and voilà!!!

Blumen in Rosa-Lila...

Flowers in pink-lilac...

Eulen auf Grün...

Owls in green...

Vögelchen auf Blau...

Birdies in blue...

Natürlich mit "Kiwis & Krauts"-Label...

Of course I've added my little "Kiwis & Krauts"-Label...

Die Umhänge haben vorne eine große Tasche für alles was so kleine Racker so im Garten finden...

The coats have a big pocket at the front for everything a toddler might find in the garden...

Hinten werden die Umhänge zum schnellen An- und Ausziehen mit KAM-Snaps geschlossen...

The coats are closed with snaps at the back to put them on and off quickly...

Und da die Nähmaschine schon mal aufgebaut war, habe ich auch gleich die ein oder andere Schnullerkette genäht...47 um genau zu sein...

And since the sewing machine was standing ob the table I decided to make a few dummy savers...47 to be exact...

Hexagon-Quilt: Er ist FERTIG!!!! / Hexagon Quilt: It's FINISHED!!!!!

Ich hatte in Neuseeland viel freie Zeit (wie es sich für einen ordentlichen Urlaub gehört)...trotzdem hatte ich mir ein Ziel ganz fest vorgenommen: meinen Hexagon-Quilt endlich fertig zu kriegen...oder zumindest so weit zu kommen, dass ein Ende in Sicht ist. Also hat das gute Stück bereits zum vierten Mal in zwei Jahren den Trip von Deutschland nach Neuseeland und umgekehrt gemacht.

Und abends habe ich es mir dann mit der finalen Staffel von "How I Met Your Mother" und meinem Quilt bequem gemacht...

I had heaps of free time in New Zealand (as it is supposed to be on a holiday)...but I had one big goal anyway: finishing my Hexagon Quilt or at least working on it so that there is an end in sight. So my quilt went on the fourth trip with me from Germany to New Zealand in only two years.

And in the evening I sat down with the final season of "How I Met Your Mother" and my quilt....

Nach nur wenigen Tagen waren alle Hexagons verarbeitet und es war Zeit den Rand anzubringen...

After just a few days all the hexagons were finished and it was time to do the border...

Ich habe den Rand noch mit einer sichtbaren Naht verstärkt...

I topstitched the border...

Und fertig ist das gute Stück...naja, zumindest der obere Teil ;-) Jetzt geht es ans quilten...

And finished...well, at least the top part ;-) Now it's time to quilt...

Zurück in Deutschland habe ich erst einmal alles gut mit Sicherheitsnadeln fest gestecken...

Back home in Germany I secured everything with safety pins...

Beim Feststecken ist mir dann aufgefallen, dass mir beim Hexagons annähen ein kleiner Fehler passiert ist...könnt ihr ihn erkennen?

I noticed a little mistake I made while doing the hexagons...can you spot it?

...ja, genau...auf der einen Seite habe ich nur einen halben Hexagon verarbeitet, auf der anderen einen ganzen Hexagon...naja, fällt doch bestimmt keinem auf ;-)

...yiep...on one side I only used half a hexagon on the our a whole hexagon...oh well, you can hardly notice ;-)

Das Quilten war eine ziemliche Quetscherei...darum ist das Feststecken mit Sicherheitsnadeln so wichtig...

The quilting was quite tricky...that's why it is so important to use heaps of safety pins...

Muttertag / Mother's Day

Alles Liebe zum Muttertag an all die wunderbaren Mamas da draußen!!!

Miss M. hat mich zum Muttertag mit einem selbstdesignten Teller aus der Kita überrascht...so macht das Frühstücken gleich doppelt Spaß ;-)

Happy Mother's Day to all those wonderful mummies out there!!!
